The Importance of an Assessment

I don’t guess, and I don’t use generic programs. Your body deserves something built around who you are—your history, your strengths, and the way you actually move.In your first session, we’ll:- Talk through your goals and what matters most to you
- Look at your training experience, injuries, and habits
- Do a few movement tests to see how your body behaves under load and in space
From there, I can design a plan that finally makes sense for your body.If you’re ready to move with purpose, choose a time below.

Movement Coach

I’m Dessy - a personal trainer, an unapologetic movement enthusiast, and injury-management nerd, based in Auckland.I didn’t come into fitness pain-free. Years ago I lived with stubborn low-back pain that physio couldn’t quite solve. I became my own project: studying, experimenting, and rebuilding until I finally created a body that felt strong, capable, and dependable again. That journey shaped everything about how I work today. After completing my personal training certification at AUT, I kept studying biomechanics, foot mechanics, breathing, posture, and corrective exercise. I believe better understanding leads to better coaching—and better outcomes for you.If you’re dealing with discomfort, rebuilding after setbacks, or simply chasing your next level, you’ll get a coaching experience that’s supportive, encouraging, and tailored—but always challenging in the right ways.I keep my client number intentionally small so you get attention, structure, and results.

If you’re ready to put the work in, I’m ready to help!

FAQ

Why do I need a trainer instead of just YouTube or ChatGPT?

There’s tons of great info online, but sorting the gold from the junk takes hours most people don’t have. I save you that time, spot form issues instantly, and keep setbacks to a minimum so you progress faster and safer.

Why train with you specifically?

I’m genuinely invested in your results. I check in between sessions, research solutions if something new pops up, and treat every client like they’re my only one.

What should I expect from sessions?

A plan built just for you after the assessment. We tweak it as you improve, you do a quick self warm-up, then every minute of the session is focused on moving you closer to your goal.

What qualifies you to help people who have pain or old injuries?

I’m a certified personal trainer with extra study in biomechanics and safe movement. I’ve managed my own injuries and pain successfully and I’m careful to stay within my scope — I don’t diagnose or treat medical conditions, but I can help you train around pain, improve movement, and get stronger safely.

Is the assessment paid?

Yes. It’s charged as a casual full 60-minute session - $90. The fee comes off any package you buy, so it ends up completely complimentary.

How much does it cost?

Weekly packages start at $50 for a single half hour and have a requirement of a month minimum commitment.

Why the 3-month (12-week) minimum?

Research shows meaningful strength, movement, and pain-reduction changes need at least 12 weeks. It’s also long enough for the new routine to stick and for you to actually start enjoying training.
